JD, I usually agree with one out of ten sentences you write. But you totally struck out with this last post. Just for a moment think if you would have the same problems with the system you outline if it were a Republican scumbag in the WH and a dem congress.

Not one constitutional check or balance has been even remotely threatened by this investigation. IMHO, there is no chance at all that Clinton will actually be removed from office over Monicagate. The only way that could happen is if 12 Democrats (27% of the total in the Senate) agree that he should be removed. The House hearings will always be partisan. If you go back to the Nixon hearings, you will see that the Democrats pushed through (along party lines) an unlimited investigation, with no time limits, and a statement that a definition of what constituted grounds for impeachment would not be decided until after the House investigation had been held. That is exactly what is being done now (also along party lines) by the Republicans. It didn't ruin the country then and it won't now.
