Jem - please realize that the UIS system will only operate over Category 3 or 5 Ethernet-compatible cable thus is limited to operation in that particular building only or wherever one has a dedicated symmetrical high-bandwidth connection.

There is no way it would be compatible with regular dial-tone lines since it obviously needs at least 10 Mbps line transfer rate capabilities. The mention of "a phone jack" is probably because the usual Ethernet connector is pretty much exactly that.

Sure beats those "Video Phones" someone is trying to push again though.
