Thank you for bringing that up. Remove the socialized medicine component from the taxes of Canadians, and most Europeans, and they pay considerably less taxes that Americans.

>>free higher education

It's not free and it's inferior

>> healthcare

It's not free and it's inferior;

>> even churches in Germany get some tax money

Unconstitutional - anti-establishment clause - besides that has undermined faith, which may be your goal.

>> I also disagree with the idea, implicit in good David's posting, that paying income tax equals submitting to slavery.

He's correct, you pay 50% of your wages and you are only half free as the state commands the product of 50% of your labor.

Borzou - "because the lefties, in contrast to the righties, don't have any power and because they really don't want to govern and don't wish to outlaw abortion, ban books, bomb federal buildings, enforce their morality on other people."

Your statement proves it's own absurdity - if the left has no power in this country, why then are we still allowing abortion?

Mr. K.

<<don't wish to outlaw abortion,ban books bomb federal buildings enforce their morality on other people>> I couldn't agree more with all of the above.And although I do support some conservative causes I lean more to the left than right[not middle though].Yeah David could have been more tactful.But you know that there are subjects that I'm sure you have felt strongly about and perhaps didn't phrase your thoughts quite as well as you would later have liked.I can understand the term slave [although I wouldn't have used it] since the tax system seems so unfair to some of us and we are so helpless to change it.BTW I also fear the RR more.The RL some times inspires anger in me rather than fear.Not sure why .
