<<Lots of bargain, best shopping time in all my years as an investor.>>

Ibexx, you were ecstatic in April '97; do you consider Csco at $45 today a better deal than back then? TIA.

Ibexx,

As always, you manage to calm these troubled waters with a truly sane message.

I think all the four conditions you mentioned will be met. I also think this IS the bottom, or near to.

Hangin' in there, but with quality stocks,

Diane

<<PS: Lots of bargain, best shopping time in all my years as an investor.>>

You mean - all these long two and a half years? Vast experience ... Buffett should come and learn from you. How much do you charge for lessons? $0.01 an hour? Not counting investment losses? -g-

Ibexx-- Congradulations on your positive outlook.

Although we might get an updraft in the next day or two, the tech analysis folk are calling for more downside.

IMHO--
50 basis points even a week from now will do no good.
There will be no international stradagy.
No Clinton conclusion-- can't spoil Newt's fun.
Some positive earning suprises. But they won't change anything.

With great respect for your cool head and thoughtful way of making decisions, I humbly suggest that are not at the bottom. This market is too volatile, too negative, and there too much uncertainty everywhere.

Good luck.

Ibexx, I got the impression Wednesday's close could be a short term bottom for the NAZ. Technically, we can all see it is short term oversold. I can't call the bottoms but averaging down at this point is better than 2 months ago. I took a position in CSCO in the 43 range and quite frankly am pretty pleased with that. I keep telling my wife that we are so far ahead of the average investor to stop worrying! Today's buy is an example of why the big money stays BIG! Buy good companies on sale!

Ibexx,

Thanks very much for the reply.

Agree----shopping time coming up. Bargains coming up in stocks of good companies.

Someone once said,

"Wall Street is the only place in the world where people
run out of the door while there is a sale going on."
