Just ran across this. Since I have not been tracking the March Future, I have no personal knowledge on this at all, but thought it might warrant some thought.

Tom,

The VIX hit the 52 range, and the last time it hit such high levels it was a strong BUY signal. So is this a BUY SIGNAL.

The reason I mention it, is not that I think it is a concrete BUY signal, although it could be, but that I, as many, have noticed how this volitile market has skewed the technical indicators.

Just a bit of advice to many, and that is not to rely too much on individual technical indicators.

Tom,

Any thoughts this am? I am thinking I don't want to short here....down too far already to be shorting, so I want to wait for a bounce. However, things are so negative from a news stream standpoint that we could have a big break at any time, so I don't want to get long for a even a bounce that I anticipate.

Guess that just leaves me flat till something comes along....my method currently would be flat as well awaiting the next signal.

>>> How are you--hope that you are doing OK after all of the travails of the past few months. <<<
Doing well. Busier than ever at work. The latest thing at my company is they monitor all messages sent and received. They even have a key word search that's used on our email software so you can't use profanities! A giant window pops up saying the word is 'considered to be inappropriate in the context of business correspondence'.

>>> I saw that up-tick on the DOW--pretty funny!! <<<
I agree. I think the CBOT forgot to adjust for the drop in CCI's price (from 79.75 to 31.75) for the merger with TRV. Bad mistake.

>>> Are you trading the markets or taking a rest?? <<<
Trading off and on. It's been tough to trade, since I'm so swamped at work...no time to monitor my positions so I don't take too many.

>>> I am doing just great--learning how to day trade the futures --- not that successful given the time that I put into it -- would make a lot more money consulting or something like that. But this is a lot more fun!! <<<
Day trading seems ideal right now, since the market is taking such large swings almost every day. Glad you're having fun with it.

>>> Keep in touch--hope that you got the e-mail that I sent you a while back. <<<
No! I never received an email from you. I've sent you a few off and on, but never heard back...???

I'll try to keep in touch.

Adios.
