Sean
Others wanting to do this can make
thier KOT parition bootable and install PM and DI there and use this to store images
rather than mirrors.

If you don't mind a novice question..... whats the difference between images and mirrors?

the jaz functions independently of everything. you certainly could
install PM and DI on it and make it bootable to restore images. Others wanting to do this can make thier KOT parition bootable and install PM and DI there and use this to store images rather than mirrors. Depends on what you want. I prefer the 10 min wait and more space capacity for backup images rather than a instantly bootable copy of my primary C. Hope this makes sense.

OK, you have my interest. I was checking on the speed and the JAZ2 2GB drive has a minimum sustained transfer rate of 4.9 MB sec and an average sustained rate of 7.4 MB sec!! iomega.com The HP MO drives read at 2.7 MB and write at 1.4 MB sec. www8.zdnet.com . In short I am impressed. I missed the jump to 2 GB, I must have been sleeping... All for less than $400 if one has a SCSI card.

Clarence, the drive is only available in SCSI.

What I find more impressive than the speed is the 2 GB size. Although still small compared to todays harddrives it does present some interesting alternatives. Two GB partitions are not unreasonably small IMO.

Sean, I am a little confused. Would it be possible to mirror a harddrive using Power Quest Drive Copy if the harddrive partition were less than 2GB? or would one copy all of the files from the primary boot drive to the JAZ2 boot configured drive?..and then use it as a KOT drive?

I understand that you use it to store Drive Images. I am wondering if it can also be used to store and boot drive Copies?
