Tench,

The advantage to P2P comes at high frequencies. Have you ever worked in the microwave circuit theory area. If not, I can recommend a good book which will give you an idea of the challenges that are faced as the bus clock speed on computers continue to climb. They are VERY significant.

At 100-60, maybe even 200Mhz, these effects are neglible. Up past 250Mhz-300Mhz you start to feel them more and more. If you would like (as I said) I can recommend some good books on the subject for you.
