Another possibility that cannot be ignored is that the stock is being churned, large volume being bought and sold back and forth to generate interest and volume. Drives the price up and brings in small investors that think the bottom is here. Once up, the churners pull the plug and down it goes again.

Not likely, but its an ideal stock to do it to. Cheap, undervalued, and on the NYSE for credibility. But its probably value investing.

Actually the company has an outstanding buyback program in place, I think. They announced an intention to buy shares earlier this year, and over bought some of the shares that they announced, so I think they could resume the existing buyback, if they wanted to.

Anyone know about this?
