As if to echo my sentiments, here's a Q&A from Nextgen...

Q:
The rundown on the players' positions in
November was interesting, but you didn't
mention anything on the PC Hardware market.
Will 3DFX take dominate with Banshee/SLI
VooDoo2 or will nVidia's TNT and OEM PC
deals put it on top? How do the prospects look
for the rest (Intel, Matrox, S3, etc)?

A:
Right now, 3dfx has penetrated the PC
market for add-in 3D cards to the tune of
85% marketshare (according to a white
paperwe just read). While it might lose
ground this Christmas, it is unlikely to be
toppled anytime soon.

It looks like the three new Pavilions from HP announced yesterday continue their run of ATI Rage Pro based boxes. Oh well, more retail upgrade customers.
