Finally someone from Datek is responding. The only trouble is I can't figure out what it means. Anyway,

Peter Stern, would you care to comment on the morning server problems. Also, has there been any change to the availability of stocks to short?

Thanks.

POST DATEK. WE KNOW YOU'RE WATCHING.

Datek,

We don't need to tell you that lately there's been many problems
with your systems from the customers point of view.

Tell us when resolutions will be available for:

(A) UNRELIABLE SERVERS.

(B) ENTERING ORDERS THE FIRST 1/2 HOUR & HAVING THEM
APPEAR NOWHERE AT ALL.

(C) THE FAILURE TO PAY CUSTOMERS OCTOBER INTEREST
ON THEIR CASH BALANCES.

Datek, you come out and respond to selected posts.

Your silence on these issues is very disturbing.

Post something.

We know you're watching.

Thank You.

Whoa, Peter, a blast from the past. Long time no see.
That's the gist of the problem here, isn't it?

Howcome that's so? We used to have a dialog. Now
it's a one-sided multilog, with your side not present.

I declared I was out, but haven't traded (should have).
Technically, I'm outta here. BUT if you start responding
in any reasonably way again, I, and probably older Datek
users, will listen. Probably new ones too. Maybe
reconsider a bit. Maybe not. Try, at least.

Peter Stern, please re-evaluate message 10205 in which I posted an example of the problems with executing marketable orders through Datek, and with getting order representation through Datek. This happens every day from 9:30 to 9:50.

Silly fast.

Peter, please respond to your slow execution during the 1st 20 minutes of trading. I tried to short this morning and placed my price between the bid and the ask. Your server said that my order was placed at 9:36. For the next 5 minutes, the trading raged around my price, above, below and through several times, but Datek never filled my order. I eventually cancelled and resubmitted and got filled right away. PM me for details if you need them.

Scott

Ooh, a very secretive message from a very important person at Datek. Moses has come down from the mountains with his tablet that says REEVALUATE etched in stone. Gee, maybe we should stay after all.

Peter, is it unreasonable to wonder why October interest hasn't been credited by the 11th of the month? You guys only owe me a couple of bucks, but it's a big red flag to me that you can't get it paid on time? My conclusion is that Datek is either incompetent (just can't do the work right), going broke (don't have the money to pay out), or playing the float with money that does not belong to you (keep the money in an account that pays more than 3.5% interest and pocketing the difference).

I have not seen anything that makes me regret defunding my Datek account yet.

With all due respect,

Barb

You really are making your site unusable. Now the express servers do not allow you to go back to the 1st screen and enter your order. This makes for mistakes because I have to retype a sell order all over again instead of just changing the last order to sell from buy. Please configure the express server screens the way they used to be. It wastes time for us to have to repeatedly enter data. Please answer this concern with some explaination. You are making trading harder and harder at your site!

I really want to get this message across to you! I will also send you and email.

Peter, the static quotes page (not streamer) used to have the time stated to the second. The new changes only give the time to the minute. Same in the Portfolio page.

This is a BIG step backwards.

PLEASE, include the seconds in the time anywhere you present the time.

Peter and Robert, Thanks for changing the express server pages back to their original format. It helps to reduce errors and improve timing.

Peter Stern, thanks very much for putting seconds back into the time for static quotes and portfolio. And thanks for doing so quickly.

Peter Stern, streamer's timestamp is more than 5 minutes fast today.

Please correct this.
