our "old man" thinks they'll post slightly above consensus, if not dead on. Kumar, i believe, places them in the same range. what happens to the stock price if so? what do you think?

Gabriel, the Whisper is generally the high end of the estimates (.28 according to Zacks).

what are your thoughts on the whisper number at earningswhispers.com ?

It has been $0.30 for some time now, and since they haven't beaten estimates by more than $0.02 (adjusted for splits) in recent memory, even a $0.03 surprise sounds high.

I was trying to make the point that since IDC data was for July, August and September and Dell's quarter was for August, September and October, the error would be the difference between October and July.
