Katherine, all: 9% growth from 1998 is still a pretty miserable year In fact, if 1998 comes out, according to the SIA, at down 11% (10.8% to be precise), then 1999 is still below 1997 in total production (by about 3%). F.

Katherine,I'd be very surprised if the stocks didn't back and fill a little bit before the rocket launch once it becomes clear that earnings are still poor. I Agree with your above statement. It is interesting to me when I compare the following AMAT 1998/99 IBD Relative Strength Data and Price with the 1996/97 data. Note, that the Relative Strength this month is where it approximately was in 1996/97 December (60-87) and Price of 35-40 against (vrs) RS 62-86, and Price of 33-39.125 in 1998/99 at this time. Well out with the fundamental analysis, just like 1996.
