As I have stated in previous messages, our nuke plant is NOT computer controlled. The only way we would have to shutdown is by NRC mandate or significant grid disturbance. <<or a spilled Pepsi in the control panel ;) >>

I have an customer who works for CPQ/ Diget,,,,Esp..Y2000 projects.

{ He says that many company's have donated time to local power company's and that there is a serious lack of concern by the power company employees. }

Question - How do you know those indicators on the board are giving you the correct reading ?

Electric generation, transmission and distribution are certainly more high tech and there is a lot of automation.

Being involved in rate cases I have seen a good amount of expenditures for the electrics and gas LDCs here that are regulated traditionally --- I believe that the largest electric utility in our state which has a slightly different arrangement has the Y2K issues that might impact physical operations well in hand. I will have an oppty to inquire when I visit there in the next couple of weeks. I'll tell you what I find out.
