does anybody know what was discussed during the board meeting that
took place today? I'm wondering if a stock split is comming in the near future? Anybody have any comments? The stock was unbelievably
strong today, by my count the stock should see the mid to high sixties
in the next few days.

Dow Jones: MCI WorldCom Up-2-: Hits 52-Wk High, Qwest Initiative Cited

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Investors saw good news about MCI WorldCom Inc.
(WCOM) both locally and globally Thursday and bid up the shares to a new 52-week high. MCI WorldCom Inc., Jackson, Miss., benefited both from its own plans to offer a high-speed Internet service and from a competitor's overseas initiative, which analysts viewed as a validation of WorldCom's strategy.

WorldCom, the nation's second-largest long-distance company and an Internet
powerhouse, said it will begin offering Internet access over standard copper
telephone wires at very high speed using a technology called digital subscriber
line.

Qwest Communications International Inc. (QWST), a Denver long-distance
company, said Thursday that it has formed a joint venture with Dutch
telecommunications company Royal KPN NV (KPN) to build and operate a
fiber-optic telecommunications network in Europe.
The venture is strongly positive for Qwest and Royal KPN, said Warburg Dillon
Read analyst Linda Meltzer, but it also endorses WorldCom's aggressive push
into Europe, where it has built an extensive network.
"WorldCom was there first," Meltzer said. "It sort of validates WorldCom's
position."

The Qwest KPN venture is expected to have 1999 revenue of around $400 million
with annual growth of around 40%.

Analysts said Qwest's projections suggest that both companies will enjoy very
strong growth in European markets.

MCI WorldCom shares gained 3 9/16, or 6.4%, in heavy Nasdaq trading to close
at 58 7/8, passing the previous 52-week high of 57 7/8, reached July 21.

Qwest shares ended the day down 1/4, or 0.6%, at 43 on slightly greater than
average Nasdaq volume, while NYSE-listed American depositary receipts of Royal
KPN gained 7/8, or 2.3%, to close at 39 3/4 in light trading.

MCI WorldCom's shares didn't rise sharply until afternoon, even though the
Qwest news and MCI's Internet announcement were widely publicized early in the
day. Analysts said they didn't have an explanation for the trading pattern.

Great to see WCOM break out. I was getting tired of the stock stuck at $55ish with all the re-it's of $70+

RE: QWST
I think QWST is pretty much over priced now (sold at $43). You might want to look into GBLX. (WCOM bought capacity from GBLX and QWST is in a fiber sharing deal with them)
