Hi Jenna,

I've been lurking for some time. I'm not comfortable with day trading. I've let the “Full Service” houses handle my portfolios to date (I'm in the process of signing up with Brown & Co.). I'm definitely on my way to an online way of doing business.

In reading this post ( and previous) it pretty much looks like day trading is your preference.

Question. Does Market Gems, either the SI thread or the subscription service offer anything for somebody like me.

Begining Monday: 1)New Format for Watch List* 2)Setting up new section on strategies, charts, past articles of SI on one site** 3)short newsletter next week on overbought/oversold status of stocks according to stochastic/williams %r oscillators... finding stocks on strong uptrends with low stochastics, ..Stocks with best short term technical rank (comprised of my own combination of indicators & parameters)etc.

*(instead of how it is now with separate html's files education.html,aboutus.html,gemsonsi.html.. will all be renovated) You are really going to like the new format, very eye-pleasing and easily maneuvreable

** So not to clutter the page with explanation and news items there will be icons you will click on taking you directly to either short text explanations of key technical points of the stock, some news story, or in some cases a graph or chart. It won't be on every stock every day, but it will be on a portion of them..

Here is about the way it will look. marketgems.com Although unlike this watchlist, the icons will go to directly to the article much like you see on YHOO or when you click on a symbol and it is hyperlinked to a chart.

By the way by end of November we should have about 500 subscribers to Market Gems. By Christmas time we should be close to 600.. a good part of the work will also rub onto this thread as you have noticed so everyone on our 'home' on Silicon will benefit and not just subscribers

Any recommendations? Thanks.

Jenna, I'm waiting to hear what stock tracking software you recommend. Since I don't have any special software, I've only been following 2-4 of your picks each day, after doing some of my own research. Your stock picks are so good that overall I've been quite successful. However I'm sure tracking software would greatly improve my trading. I'm embarrassed to say that I bought BILL last week and did not get out in time. With tracking software, I suspect I would never have bought it, and I'm sure I would have been able to get out right as it started to drop. Now I'm holding it, thinking it has no where to go but up. The funny thing is I was so absorbed in BILL on Thurs. that I didn't realize ADSK had earnings coming out and I inadvertently held ADSK through earnings. Had I known, I wouldn't have risked holding through earnings. What incredible luck- that turned out to be my best trade ever. I am learning so much from you and thoroughly enjoying it. I have three daughters and have been a full time mom. My youngest is 9 and I had been thinking about part time work. No job could possibly match this in profitability or flexibility. Since I'm on the west coast I generally can buy stocks before the kids wake up, take a break while I get them off to school and after the market closes at 1 I have two hours to do the housework before the kids get out. I am really enjoying this. Thank-you! Barbara

HWP.. still bullish with a stochast of 3 and 4 you can't get a better buy for the money. Relative strength was neutral today waiting for a move.. the move came in this highly oversold stock. I think it has good upside and a good value at this level.
