>>The poor slave developers deep inside Microsoft are working, not for a vision or lasting purpose, but just for a paycheck.>>

>>>You have no idea what you're talking about.

Just thought I'd mention that fact. I'm sure it won't mar the collective box of thoughts wherein you, cheryl and others reside :-) >>>

mozek:

Are you in technology development?? That's my business. I'm not a coder, but I provide the business development and marketing background to a technology my new company is working on for the securities industry. In this capacity, I have talk to a lot of extremely talented people across the country who are doing development on a variety of platforms.

Your ostridge-like, shallow comments speak volumes against you and your investment in Microsoft. The BEST talent has long left Redmond. I would hazard to guess that the majority of developers working at MSFTare temps working on contract with some outside agency.

Check out Volt Information Services - this stock went the moon and probably back by now on this very thing. Microsoft could NOT attract developers and had run into a brick wall using their stock for incentives because its cost them dearly.

The attitude I sense, feel and understand at Microsoft is one of "this ship is NOT on the cutting edge anymore."

JAVA, open systems software, JINI, the Internet -all pure IP - in an exploding world of unlimited bandwidth......all this is making Microsoft's Windows monopoly irrelevant.

All old and fat cows, bulls and pigs utimately have to get slaughtered.
I'm Not sure where Microsoft fits in this lineup because of the arrogance factor.

I just know that the mindset and energy in Redmond is just not what it used to be. You can feel it, touch it, sense it, relate to it.

My suggestion to you would be to talk to some developers. Don't take my word for anything.

Nov. 21 — Years from now, historians may point to this past week as what Intel CEO Andy Grove likes to call a “strategic inflection point,” a time of radical change in technology markets. Was this the week that the Microsoft empire began to crumble?

Temps Revolt
In the insult-added-to-injury department, there's been yet another lawsuit filed against Microsoft. A group of temporary workers at Microsoft filed suit in Seattle on Wednesday, seeking to participate in the company's health and stock option plans. An earlier lawsuit was limited to temps who worked there from 1987 to 1990. This one, however, could be broader. Attorney David Stobaugh, representing the 10 plaintiffs in the new lawsuit, says he'll seek to have it certified as a class action covering several thousand workers.

==================

A lot of trouble is brewing in Redmond. These temps aren't stupid. They're the ones building NT 5.0. You bet your sweet bippie they know they have Gates over a barrel right now. Apply the same kill or be killed techniques against the grand master himself, their boss.

Come on Billyboy....... Take the gloves off. Duke it out. Don't take any crap from these disempowered workers - the ones who can't go anywhere else and would love to just create a nasty fight for you just as you are dig yourself out of a Y2K grave with the "new" NT.

Freedom is a beautiful thing to witness. Give individuals the feeling that they have power -unlimited power - and watch what they can do. We are at the dawning a new globel Era of The Individual where the Internet will feed the fire and energy of freedom to every Tom, Dick, Cathy, and Susan of the world - every country, every class, everywhere, all the time.......

Temps, I ask you to just feel the Power, feel the Force of this great sweeping trend.

Where do YOU want to go today???

Who do YOU want to work for???

How do YOU want to make a lasting difference in this world.

Look at your leader and ask yourself.......
