Option: 10473 call contracts for Jan $10. People are betting on earning suprises from IFMX as it did in the past. There are even Jan $20 call contracts. Very interesting!

johnlea,
The point I was trying to make is that one can increase the number of shares on has in IFMX by doing the following (based on yesterday's prices when I posted the message):

Sell what you have of IFMX at 5 11/16.
Buy REDB at 2 7/8.

The number of REDB shares you can buy, (after subtracting, say 5c per share for commission on the two trades) were around 1.96 times the number of IFMX shares. You'll then get 1.15 IFMX shares for each share of IFMX you used to have (1.96 * 0.6) when the acquisition completes. Not a bad return (15%) for just a couple of trades. (I actually did this, BTW).

johnlea,
Another trade that one can do, if one expects the acquisition of REDB to go through, is short IFMX and go long REDB. For every 1000 shares of REDB that you go long, you'd short 600 shares of IFMX. You'd pocket the price difference and when the acquisition is complete, you'd automatically be covered.

The risk is that the acquisition doesn't go through and REDB stock price drops on that news.
