The impeachment isn't destroying the GOP but it reveals like an x-ray the underlying fissures that exist between the go along to get along moderates and the Republicans with principle and backbone.

Borzou,

I think it is a myth that the Republicans
are out to get the President. If they were,
there would be obvious signs that this was
the case. Instead, they seem resigned to
dealing with the guy. Besides, once Clinton
figured out that the "New Deal" was over and
that Socialism had fallen out of favor, the
guy adopted the Republican Platform and stayed
alive politically. For all practical purposes,
Bill Clinton has done mostly a Republican agenda.

For those of you who seem to forget this here
is a short list of Bill Clinton's "achievements":

1) Welfare Reform

2) Immigration Reform

3) Tougher laws on Crime

4) Weakening of Environmental laws including the
approval of oil exploration in the Arctic National
Wildlife Refuge, The Timber Bill (which allowed the
rest of the old growth on Federal land to be clear-
cut).

Its a fact that *more* people lack health insurance
now than when Clinton became President in 1992.

The only Democratic "success" story that he has is
that he has cut 300,000 jobs from the U.S. military
and reduced our readiness.

Still love the Con Man?

-John

Falling apart at the seams? The Repubs control both houses of Congress and an overwhelming majority of state houses. Voter registration is shifting in Repub favor. I hope it gets "worse". JLA

Borzou, guess what? When the politicians see that their own skins are at risk as they appear to at this time [impeachment is now apparently out of the question ] they seem to get the picture. After all they wouldn't want to get a real job now would they?
