To the thread, could anyone recommend a 19” monitor?
I already have a 21” and two 17” monitors running
off matrox cards as Multiple-display under NT4.
I think my desktop can fit one more 19” monitor.

I appreciate if anyone could share experiences of
a good 19” monitor with crisp text.

Thanks.

Clark

I don't worry about juice either, particularly, but I
do have a problem with heat, so I think about these things.
The monitors produce the most heat, by far, so I shut them
down. My 21" is on a Matrox millenium which, for the life
of me, I can't get to go into power saver mode in NT
(it did under Win 95).

Spots,

As I have said before and I guess people aren't paying attention. NT doesn't support APM. No monitor and video card by default will powerdown. from my research only one vendor makes a screensaver that can power down VESA energy star compliant monitors... I don't use this but tried it several years ago on another system and it worked as advertised.

I was having that problem with my Mac system. I found a screensaver app that replaced my existing powerdown features ( the monitor sw never worked) with a whole slew of power management stuff for disks and monitor that work fine. Its only for Macs though.....Never thought I would get to say that<gg>.
But the site which linked me to this sw also lists about a dozon windows screensaver sites. You may be able to fine similar replacement powerdown software for your Nt machine at one of these links.....if you feel its worth some effort.
