j b <<More importantly, they gain control over the shipping and customer service process - ultimately, this is even more important than the quality of the product itself.>> how true. and it is THIS process which concerns me about ebay (or the person to person format in general) to an extent. ebay has limited to no control over those plying goods on their site; it's buyer beware. the seller lists references, i understand, but good references from good liars isn't hard to duplicate. ONSL, by using high quality, name brand manuf. with selling/service agreements protects the buyer first, then sells the good.
