Nice summary, SO, and I'm inclined to agree. I'm still gunshy after the last 11 months though, so it's hard for me to get excited until I see how we're doing come Jan. 21 - but maybe there'll be a positive preannouncement for a change; would be a nice Christmas present, wouldn't it?

Back in May, PC Magazine did a comparative review (http://www.zdnet.com/pcmag/firstlooks/9804/f980424a.htm) of four CD-creating software packages, and Easy CD Creator actually came in second! The winner was just!audio, which I'm not familiar with, nor the other two packages in the review. I don't own a CD-R or CD-RW yet, but it still seems that Adaptec's product is the only one that I run across in ads and reviews, with a few OEM exceptions.

It's also nice to see that PC Mag used the Adaptec product as the example and for all the screenshots in its "How to Record an Audio CD" article. zdnet.com
