<<<.there are a lot of bargains in this city if one knows where they are>>

Bobby, Bobby...Of course! More than half of those places either do not pay taxes or pay (cheat) very little... Of course you can say that this is the only way for them to stay in business...But there is no more corrupt enviroment in USA than NY, NY...The whole idea is to get by by cheating....In places like Wisconsin people do not have to think like that...that is why two Worlds can't understand each other...

Bobby,

I thought you wanted to be called Morg. I'm still going to call you Dogzilla once in awhile you know.

I voted for a candidate of integrity in the last presidential election. I do not equate that with throwing away a vote. But you are right about trying to figure which one of the major candidates was lesser of two evils.

Clinton giving farmers aid. The very headline makes me sick. It was the government that ripped the farmers on taxes and now they are giving some of it back as handouts. I don't eat ground pork so don't necessarily keep up on the price. However, whole boneless tavern ham here is 1.69 a pound. Round roast is the same. Turkey .89 a pound. 8" pumpkin or apple pie two for 2.98. 5 pound bag of sugar is .98. and Coke 12 packs are 1.98 today at the local County Market. Not sure where these prices are in other regions. They even have oranges 5lb. for .98. I'll probably stop tomorrow and pick up 20 pounds. You are right to be concerned about the farmers. When you hear of 600,000 pounds of apples rotting in a mountain state orchard because of competition from cheap Chinese imports there is something to worry about there. Your question about where does the world turn when everybody's currency is in sorry straits is a good one. If the Euro makes it then the dollar will hurt. If the Euro fails then it's gold that will benefit.

A note on the ginseng industry. Canada subsidized its farmers to grow ginseng. They flooded the market and tanked it--prices down 85% from a few years ago. --Al
