well- I guess you need to start your own S/W company- for all I see are WIP companies- including TC2k- Qcharts- QP- MS- TF+ - GET- WOW - etc.

There will always be work in progress. I see a major difference in say a "build" of a computer program and an on-going "beta" version. There was a target that was set and met and thus the release of the "build". This is controlled progress, while just adding new features and not knowing when to stop is not. Maybe I am missing something, but I do not see this type of action with say GET. They have new versions all the time, but I always had the impression that they knew what was to be included in the next version. I never knew that the decision of what to include or not to include was made on the fly as the program developed.

Now some of the microsoft product seem to fit the case of never setting a specification. They just issue a release say is on a given date and fix the problems later. I guess that is why there is always a version x.01 issued shortly after the initial release. I guess that what is different about QP2 is that the "beta" testers are allowed to talk about the program as it is developed. Maybe it is better for the general public to never hear about the problems that show up in the pre-release stage of the program. You very seldom hear of someone having a problem with the normal version of quotes plus.

p.s. Thank you for the note on the Max() function.

I think it proves to me that it is better to keep non-beta users in the dark. When you mention a feature, they all want it. If you mention a minor problem, they think the product has fatal flaws. I have learned my lesson again. Don't let others know.

Webb: Float rarely changes. So you are measuring the % of shares traded of float. Volume becomes the key. It is a way to see relative volume. You get an old dinasaur with a couple of hundred million shares float and some people think it is high volume if it trades 5 million. This measure gives true demand. Its main purpose is to provide a list of stocks to review. A straight vol>350,000 won't do. If you are able to find trigger points, It will take extensive study. For now, try the 21 day ma of volume/float. then sort the list by the ratio. use a cutoff of 2% to get a good group to perform other scans and system test on. The question is: are these the stocks you should trade?
