A question to all: I jumped
into PSFT using the year 2000 leaps ... isn't psft going to spin
off their R&D unit? ... the question I have is ... is PSFT going
to fall in price by the given amount that the spin-off will account
for - ie say after the spin-off, will PSFT stock immediately fall to
say $12-13 and you get a $3-5 spin-off share of the other R&D
company?? - if you hold the stock this ok, but holding the leaps
might not be a good idea since I won't be getting any R&D leaps?

What do you all think?

thanks
Klaus

I share your optimism on potential price levels 12 months down the road.

It is interesting that the price hit its 52 week low today. The employees of PeopleSoft should be very excited about the new low price as December 15 is the date set for repricing of the employee stock options using the day's fair market value. Only those options that has a strike price higher than 22 are eligible for repricing.....but thr lower the better. Are they being helped, or what?

PSFT management only is concerned with their options - not the shareholders.... somewhere they've forgotten the golden rule of management that we were taught in Business Finance 1 - 'the number one rule ---- maximize shareholder's wealth '. They've flunked this big time - screw the shareholder is their motto.

I remember the lows of many stocks, just tired of buying too early.
(Example ReadRight @ 9 down to 5) Sure I was lucky enough to be right on the technology shift and sold at 15, but I couldnot buy more at 5. Must be a mental problem when I'm already in a position, so to correct this fault I want to wait for the real bottom of PSFT.
