The Cold War executive orders gave the Executive broad powers over foreign policy.> This statement is too silly to let pass. An executive order is an instruction from the president to the government. The president cannot grant himself powers that are not described in the constitution or given him by the Congress. The President cannot make laws, only the Congress can. Reagan specifically violated a law passed by Congress. There is no other interpretation possible unless you wish the executive to determine which powers he should or should not have. If you believe that then you should have no argument with Clinton.

If you really believe in the rule of law, rather than the rule of the right wing, then at least be consistent.
