I don't recall IOM management saying anything about the Clik! caddy, other than when KE talked about it in a CC more than a year ago. Here's the link to my post about the caddy patent that I found:

I called Tyler Thatcher to inquire about it and to get his response. He seemed surprised about it, but made no comment.

I agree that management should clarify this ASAP.

In short, the Zip Classic just doesn't have the areal data density to take a Clik! disk and read it, caddy or no. The key comes in the original announcement (n-hand) whenever, in which the company said that the proposed caddy would work in the "new" Zip drives, which apparently are the Zip 250s.
