Re: Livingston; from a honest conservative's perspective.

What a freakin' idiot. What a stupid SOB. What was this dimwit from Looozeeana thinking? That you can go after President Dumbshit no holds barred and keep something like a series of personal sexual affairs under the rug? He had every freaking opportunity to take the high road and come clean before being backed into a corner by a newspaper. SCHMUCK... just a SCHMUCK. On behalf of honest Republicans across America, I'd like to reach out and just sorta' smack him upside the head and say, "what the hell were you thinking, moron."

Man I'm just pissed. There's little honor, if any, in "coming clean" when the dirt's about to be aired by the press around the world...in fact there's no honor. Obviously he didn't want to come clean when he was after the speaker position... he wouldn't have had a chance. So, what it looks like to this conservative is that we've got another freaking power hungry politician at the helm. I don't care what side of the political spectrum he's on... I'm just sick of the freaking bullshit politics being played on both sides of the aisle.

This schmuck had the chance to come clean before being backed into a corner; I believe both Republicans and Democrats would have respected this. Now he looks little better than Clintooon on that front.

However, with that being said there's tremendous legal differences between what Congressman Schmuck has done vs. President Slick Dick. Impeach the bastard Clintoon and Congressman Schmuck should hang his stupid head and resign.

<< Let's get People for the American Way and the Rainbow Coalition to find one of these women and bankroll a sexual harassment suit against him. >>

Good idea. But, instead, let's reserve a special prosecutor for the next Republican President. Let's pick Mario Cuomo. How about Geraldo Rivera? Or, perhaps, Jessie Jackson?

<< I mean if he lied to his wife and family maybe he's lying to us now. >>

There's an old saying about, "If you find one roach in the cupboard there's going to be a bunch more".

What I can't understand, and I know that I am repeating myself, but, how can the Republican Party, who's main platform is Family Values, give an adulterer a standing ovation right after they find out he has been cheating on his wife with several affairs?

What is one to think the next time a Republican mentions family values?

I think the main difference between the prism you're looking through and the prism those of us who are vehement in our condemnation of Clinton is that your's narrowly focuses on isolated incidents and our field of vision is much broader. The WSJ puts it much better than I can:

The Lewinsky perjury and obstruction, that is, is anything but an isolated incident. It is distinguished by irrefutable proof of direct Presidential involvement, but a broad, common-sense judgment has to be that it reflects a much more general pattern.

To characterize Clinton's actions in the Paula Jones law suit as a "trip up" grossly understates the gravity of his offense. His trip up lasted months and it included cynical manipulation of his employees, his friends, and the entire American people.
