I submit to you, Eric, that many a trial's ultimate outcome is affected by interpretations of the nuances of the applicable law, by the judge presiding.

By Constitutional Law
in this Country, Eric,
Bill Clinton is not
in charge
any longer
of his own destiny,
unless he resigns!
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is.

And guess what else, Eric? There is no recourse in our great nation
after this Chief Justice of our Supreme Court makes a ruling...OF ANY KIND! THAT'S IT. No appeals court of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court procedural or interpretive rulings.

If He/She doesn't sign off on whatever political solutions are promulgated or ponied up, because they are against the law,
or are unwise, precedent setting case law...
...IT DON'T and WON'T HAPPEN!!!

Clinton is TOAST!!!
Now the whole world is going to learn just what is so fascinating about Willie's cajones...

Latest Newsweek poll:

45% favor resignation of president
49% oppose

From today's Associated Press:

The ABC/Post poll found that Clinton's overall job approval rating
stands at 66 percent with 76 percent approving of his handling of the
economy and 72 percent approving of his handling of foreign affairs.

However, only 28 percent found Clinton to be "honest and trustworthy"
and only 19 percent said he has "high morals and ethics."

O'49er - haven't read the rest since your question as to who appointed the present Chief Justice:

Nixon!!!!!!! - pay back time - who was one of the junior members of the House Judiciary Committee then? Why, it was none other than one Trent Lott! How many Republicans voted for Articles of Impeacment then? Approx 6 - was Trent Lott one of them? NO!!

So we're in the era of political vengenence - a mess indeed. I guess Starr and Linda Tripp will be subjected to rigorous cross-examination about the connections between the Jones Trial and her testimony and whether there was indeed a perjury trap set. Nobody is clean in this whole mess. How do they get out of it? There are those, on the right, who won't want a trial E
