Of course they were diversifing. And only a small fraction.
After huge gains it would foolish not too.
In a survey, CEO's said that is what they worried most about. Too much stock in their company.

". You haven't even made a superficial attempt to analyze the insider selling. Gabele is an analyst, you're a cheerleader. Big difference."

Let me say it another way. The bugaboo about insider trading at the core is the chance that they know something bad that the rest of us don't know. That does not appear to be the case here. Nothing bad has come out and the stock is 40 points or so higher then where they sold. So they didn't forecast the market price very well if their intention was to trade on some insider news. Next, there are some very legitimate reasons to sell stock, even if you are an insider... like diversification and some of the examples, even silly ones, I gave to keep it light ... which you seemed to miss.

I also don't think much of Gabele analysis if he thinks IBM is a sale for reasons of insider selling IN THIS CASE. The bottom line is that the stock is up. It is near its all time high.

If I would have missed this move, I'd be trying to justify why it was so clever of me to pass on the stock at that time. If, on the other hand, you would have done as well with it as I have, you'd be cheering too.
