>> when Ron Reagan was in trouble I was all for impeachment <<

pezz, there was never any discussion of articles of impeachment during IranContra. Your boy IS impeached. No contest.

Reagan was killing commies in Central America with Iranian money. Clinton lied in court related to a bunch of sick sex stuff. Where in god's name is the comparison?

And by the way, Reagan was never "caught". Your boy is standing their holding the smoking cigar... er, gun.

Good post, Pezz. I've often wondered if I would be AS opposed to impeachment if I disliked Clinton as strongly as I disliked Reagan and Bush. I'd like to think that I would still be objective about the whole thing, but I'm sure I wouldn't be. And I would hope that if I WEREN'T objective, people would be there to point it out to me.

I think what does stand out is that a large part of my anger stems from the way the Republicans in general have handled themselves throughout this affair. If the Democrats acted this way, I'd move even closer to becoming a supporter of an independent party (I very nearly voted for one in the last presidential election...my vote for Clinton was mainly a vote against Dole). I certainly would never give Democrats my blanket support again, and would never, ever, vote for anyone who clearly went against the people's wishes.
