Jerome Castelli, analyst on CNBC just joined the crowd and recommended buying OS stocks...Did anyone notice that last earnings period...mid Oct- to the end on Oct...OS service stocks rallied on earnings...despite lower outlook...most of the news reports at that time suggested that the sector was oversold...the OSX ran up from about 50.00 to over 70 in the next 3 weeks of the earnings period....I wonder if it will repeat around mid Jan to end of Jan again.....

Oil close up 27 cents at $11.50, close to its high of $11.56....contract held up well today. I wonder why when the Dow and NASDAQ falls the OSX recovers??? An analyst on Thursdays "Nightly Business report" said that when the O/S sector start to move up its time to well Internet and Techs....????Any comments as to why that may be so.

The following site has a Howard Weil report on the status of Gas to Liquids (GTL)technolgy, and players, and the probable impact on the oil industry. Some of their findings are pretty impressive. Such as that the Saudis consider GTL to be the single greatest threat to their future. And that this technology will have a profound effect on the industry, comparing it to the effect of computers. The report is long, very detailed, and well documented. It clearly thinks this is a very significant technology. The report also talks a lot about the economics of refining, pipelines, and LNG. Their projections for oil prices is $14-16 to 2000, rising to $18 after that. The report has tons of info about a wide range of subjects, but GTL is the key subject. They make some specific investment recommendations for anyone interested in this area. From the projections their two recommendations, Rentech (which published the report) and Syntroleum have incredible growth possibilities.
