Brian, how do you figure? 98's crappy performance isn't exactly news, and the window for tax-loss selling just closed. My impression is that they're back on track (hopefully for good) and will report a decent quarter in 3 weeks.

We'll see; place your bets.

Me? I'm just happy to see some message traffic here again.

Brian: Adaptec's performance is old news. CNN's ratings won't influence the market next week. What may get hurt in early January are the stocks that zoomed up last year, as institutions lock in their profits. Aren't many Adaptec profits to lock in but I think it's a good investment for 1999.

Happy New Year

If a stock did not perform well in 1998, it could be brutal news for Monday? Where did you learn your investment lessons?
