I never understood the allure of AOL (the service, not the stock). If the World Wide Web is indeed the future, then how will the proprietary content providers servive? AOL was even able to beat M$ and their Microsoft Network. Could the answer be as simple as they were just more efficient at flooding the market with CD's and Disks, and once people sign up, they never leave because they are too lazy to try another service?
