Well, Well, our beloved old Worldcom may just have stumbled. I've been long since an entry price of $26. But now I'm just sick. I'm also long Airtouch since aboutt $22. Have just spent hours over the weekend researching possible cellular assets. Aint' none! Bernie said he wanted one that is making money, exit NXTL,PCS(which Sprint wouldn't sell him anyway), and WCII is not compliant with current cellular systems. WCOM is not going to buy European Vodaphone because they do not have a US presence. Seems we just lost out to the AT&T.
I suspect C. Michael Armstrong has just won the war. One possible thought is the purchase of Loral with its 40+% ownership of Globalstar
so we could own the pipe in the sky that Airtouch has(I believe about 6% ownership of). Thought over on the Loral board and in Valueline is that Loral is building a cash cow when it finally gets going. For me that's a bit of a disappointment too since I was hoping to ride Loral to about $100/ share. SH*T!! Maybe just better to buy beaten down energy stocks. (We sometime forget the basic rule: buy low, sell high.
Best of luck to everyone in all this chaos. Jim Black
