One thought for you re the use of the beta is to make sure that you are consistent; otherwise you are basically changing the system through the addition of new indicators -- unless it was already part of your system in the first place -- and that is a no-no -- for obvious reasons. I heard this morning that there was some speculation that the Japanese are moving out of the US bonds into the Euro-bonds -- not sure whether this is true but it is suggested as one of the reasons for the weakness in the bonds. If this is the case and it gathers steam, then we could see the bonds decline quite a bit.
