Pinkness:<your put writing> Curious whether you would take the other side, and buy puts in here on amzn. Please offer one specific trade possibility. Am glad you stumbled on shorting puts.

Hi Pinkness:

You are quite right: selling puts should be on companies that are dynamic like Dell, CSCO, MSFT and EMC. You are asking about EMC. I think this is a terrific copmpany in the open storage market (unlike WDC).

Sometimes I use the proceeds of selling put to buy call, so that I control shares with no money down. For example: I sold Jan00 CSCO 100 puts and use the money to buy Jan00 CSCO 100 calls. Also sold Feb DBCC 17.5 to buy Jan DBCC 17.5 calls. I already sold the calls and will close position of the puts. Short lot of Dell puts which I expect that they will expire worthless.

Selling puts on internet companies like AOL? I have Jul AOL 100 puits and Jan AOL 100 puts, however will exit fast if AOL goes south.

Good Luck to you.

Paul.
