I've been tasting some tom koolaid lately and this would poison my enjoyment. hasn't tommy been talking about the death of back office? Wouldn't that make his partners his enemies?

If he's serious, I'm out.

Wizard, did you see ben rose downgraded every software company in his universe today? Lots of courage huh?

Run for the exits if that's true. The last thing Siebel needs is an erp boat anchor to tie it down.

HR and Finance... seems like the *last* place that Siebel would want to be.

However, if Siebel is serious about 'application hosting', then focusing on HR and Finance might be a good place to start. These are commodity business processes. Execution of this strategy would require: 1. HR/Finance acquisition, 2. Complete re-write into S'99, 3. Bring in the contracts. Time and money.

No doubt about it, the stock would take a hit if SEBL takes this path. Concentrating on the growing ERM/Front-office market seems like a much better strategy.
