Steve, If it was the supervisor, I would write a very polite share holder note to Compaq. This is not the way to treat customers. Dan #21143 is not taking care of the stake holders. Management needs to fix this. They can't fix it, if they don't know about it. NW

Steve - I am having a hard time believing any of this. You're just making this up, right? On top of that, there are boatloads of actual presario products around - I just bought a 5190 (400 MHz) for $1599. I could have bought a 333MHz for $699, a 350MHz for $899, and so on up to the biggest multimedia box for $2,299. There is nothing in the presario desktop line which is $800 over your stated $1799. come on, fess up. This is just too wierd. It's a hoax, right? PS - just discovered in a subsequent post that you are talking about notebooks. Maybe you could have picked a 1240, 1255, 1260, 1266, 1267 - the most expensive of those is only $100 over your $1799 price, and several are cheaper. I still can't believe this.
