Effective if you think flapping you gums for an hour and a half is being effective. Virtually nothing he proposed has a chance of being enacted by this Congress.

A statesman isn't someone who gets up there and panders to the polls. A statesman takes courageous stands and convinces us to trust his position. Clinton is the anti-statesman.

TigerPaw, what did you think of the Republican response (Jennifer Dunn and Largent). I think Dunn had some good things to say, although imo she is a poor presenter but Largent, give me a break! Yeah thats what the republicans need to win back some of their prior supporters - another fundamentalist Christian! Ha Ha Ha are they living in a dream world or what? At least have the smarts to put Dunn on last so the swing voters who are less likely to dwell on every word will remember her speech on popular tax initiatives vs. Largents "one nation under god" baloney.
