To All..........................

I sold short a NASDAQ listed security and then attempted to put a stop slightly higher. The "order taker" took the order, then called me back to say that I could not place this order(stop) on NASDAQ. I was speechless! Certainly from the many posts I have read on SI, this is not only do-able but commonly applied. The broker is Toronto-Dominion. Any comments would be helpful.

For the money being risked in the market, I use Merrill Lynch and get a great discount on my accounts. I've been with them for many years and like the fact that the broker is to the floor immediately and the floor runner hand signals the trader in the pit.....all within seconds...I get great fills and I've never had a problem. Why save a few buck on commish when you give it back and then some on lousy fills and bad fills hit on stops. I'm sure you pick quality stocks for your portfolios, so go with quality for a brokerage firm as well. This is not a spam, I'm just a very happy customer.....

Good trading.
