The economy of the 90's was essentially a bequest of the Reagan administration, as was the end of the Cold War. It is silly to say that Bill did it better, when he has largely played follow the leader with the Republican Congress, after his own major initiatives were derailed in the first two years of his administration. As for the remarks about race, it is contemptible to turn on the Republicans when the dixiecrats remain a substantial, if waning, bloc within the Democratic Party. On the state level, most politicians associated with the controversial Council of Conservative Citizens are Democrats. The Republican chairman has denounced the group, and called on all Republican officials to repudiate it. The Democrats have not yet followed suit.

Clinton is using the SS surplus, which is much larger now than it ever was in the 80's, to run the current government operating budget. The surplus in SS revenues is due in large part to the economy and the 1990 FICA tax increase. So next, you'll claim Clinton invented the internal combustion engine since he rides in a presidential limo.

Bubba is living on Reagan's coattails, no question. Reagan invested in ending the cold war and righting the economy. Clinton, luckily, has proven irrelevant to the momentum Reagan launched.

Who says the case has fallen apart? The witnesses have not even testified as yet. Wishful thinking. It ain't over until the fat lady sings. As for Reagan being bested by Clinton, Bubba isn't fit to shine his shoes. You must be joking. hahahahaha JLA

TigerPawe,

No problem. True, the impeachment case
is about to fall apart, but then, I also
won a $5.00 sucker bet with some idiot
who thought Marsha Clark had O. J. Simpson
nailed to the wall.

As for Clinton's strong economy, I'll give
you 1/2 of that strong economy if you give
me the other half belonged to the Reagan
and Bush groundwork for fixing the tax
codes and red tape that hindered business
and savings in America. Furthermore, much
of this economy has been driven by the
computer revolution which I believe has
come about despite the Government.

Anyhoo, I wouldn't place any strong bets
on Bill Clinton making the grade as a great
U.S. President in the history books. Even
Bill Clinton's own advisor Dick Morris once
told Bubba, that "You are right on the cusp
of the third tier..." when Bubba asked him
how he rated against other American Presidents.
