My question is this. We have in the G-7 this new, prosperous postcapitalist environment. We have in the US Constitution a laundry list of individual freedoms and entitlements. Current wisdom is that the two are in conflict. Opinion?

Yeah, thanks FDR and Keynes for forcing socialism on America, creating an illegal Social Security system, enforcing a confiscatory individual income tax, bringing in payroll deduction as a wartime emergency measure then making it permanent because it greatly increased the federal government's power and political power.

Yes, thanks FDR for creating a society where Americans now believe that needs are greater than rights.
