As for Jach, BR, and Reddy and other shorts,
Gary I suspect that these three are like the "attack dogs" we get on the MSFT thread. They work for competitors, hate and fear CSCO, are clueless as to why CSCO is so successful, and vent their spleen on this thread. Nihl, I am not "cheerleading" about this. I am all for useful information about the down side, as we have got from Fun. But these three are the "Nabobs of Negativism" (remember that VP?).

Pro-side,

No, no -- I know all of that. I've written some myself. I see no serious examination of threats to Cisco from the pro-Cisco side.
In SWOT analysis, you have to measure strengths and weakness, opportunities and threats. Any management that can identify its weaknesses and threats is doomed to die. As stockholders who believe in Cisco, we should be willing to see its faults. Failing that, guys like Jach and Reddy can help us a great deal.

Gary:

These are changes in paradigm....not bigger, faster or cheaper products of the same technology or delivery methods.

What about Intel in the sub 1000 computer? Clearly, Intel didn't think the sub 1000 computer trend would continue.

That is an example of how a cheaper product almost caused not the demise, but embaressment of a large company.

Gary- What do you see as the likelihood that Cisco would buy Tellabs?
iYho...good move? Necessary move? Who else could/would buy them? Siemens? TIA
