Pravin,

Re: "Arizona may introduce bill to ban sales of PIII:"

Pravin, care to bet if Arizona introduces AND passes this bill ?? Didn't
think so. Remember Pravin, Intel has a very large facility in Chandler AND
they pay a lot in taxes.

Make It So,

Pravin,

Arizona may introduce a bill to ban sales of PIII

Arizona has a history of bizarre politics. In 1987 or 88 Governor Mecham rescinded the Martin Luther King Monday holiday, and in doing so caused Arizona to be dropped from consideration by the Super Bowl Site Selection Committee. Mecham was later impeached over this.

About the same time, the citizens of Phoenix voted not to build a baseball stadium, and lost their shot at a major league baseball team. Joe Garagiola was so angry he left the state.

Then there was Governor "One Eyed" Jack Williams who presided over the opening of a new dormitory at Northern Arizona University. In his remarks he said "This is too nice for college students. They should be living in quanset huts."

You never know what they might do there!

Pravin, re: <This has just got to bring a smile to your face.>
I find it humorous, but as an investor, I'm not smiling.
This look's more and more like a major screw-up. I see there are already PIII's on some dealers shelves. Intel claims they've already shipped many PIII's to customers. Intel cancels Superbowl ad's four days before the game. The reason given is there's too long a time between the game and product availability. This don't play in Peoria. So what's changed that could cause this decision? Either there's been a change in product availability due to manufacturing issues, (which doesn't make sense, since they're already shipping), or there's been a change in availability due to "ID" issues. Or maybe the OEM's don't want to ship product with the current version of the chip?
Another possibility may be that the Ad content threw gas on the "ID" fire, and the availability story is a cover-up for pulling the ad's.
Or suppose they've decided they need to eliminate the "ID" feature completely? What impact does that have on availability? (There's been a lot of controversy as to the latent effects of having the feature embedded in the chip).
Just my opinions, of course.
