My My, you sound rather bitter. If WCOM didn't buy MCI, someone else would have (GTE for example). I am not disputing that the MCIer's may have had it a little more cushy, but to keep employees happy is crucial in a big city where the employment opportunities are vast. MCI is losing a lot of very good employees to companies like Bell South.

CUSHY PERKS??? A stock purchase plan? Friday after Thanksgiving off? You may cosider thses perks but in DC all around they are standards! Moral is low because of these and many more... uncertainty(selling IT to EDS?), broken promises(400 stock options a year for the next 3 years at a strike price to be announced in Jan... check your calendar there isn't much Jan left). Anytime there is a merger there are problems keeping employees, Bern needs to do what he is known for doing "Act fast!"
