What are the differences/advantages of the RACE solution over a DSL line? The latter allows voice and data transmission simultaneously over the same copper wire, it is not shared with the neighbors and is becoming widely available through the local phone companies without new cabling.

Marshall, drakes understands full well, he just plays dumb & manipulative in an effort to make his SHORT in RACE come home. After all, it worked for him once & he's very obviously using the same tactics again!!!

You may know him, but he ia a Trojan Horse in all respects!!!

Here we go....

There are tens of thousands of workers that travel

But how many of those people "need" simultaneous voice/data? A dozen? Two dozen?

and there are tens of millions of employees that are not able to get cable in their homes.

In the United States? Get out of town. I'd have to check the "homes passed" stats but I'd be floored if there are even a couple of million, maybe 5 million homes in the US that can't get cable at this point. Where did you come up with those numbers?

There are also tens of millions of employees that either can't get a second phone line due to all the pairs in their neighborhood already being used or if they do have two lines the second one is usually the teenager's line.

Tens of millions? Really? I've seen you mention this before but I've never seen the basis for these numbers. Keep in mind there are "only" 127 million working Americans, a few 10s of millions here, a few 10s of millions there, pretty soon you're talking about the entire workforce being unable to telecommute without BT. And yet there are millions and millions of people out there telecommuting right now and somehow they are managing to do it without BT. How can this be?

Why have I had to type this same thing over and over again for years?

At least for as long as you keep thinking that OK is the center of the universe. ;-)

As far as the snooping issue goes....I thought VPNs pretty much took care of that with the tunneling thing.
