Tero's propaganda adds no value to the debate.

Quite frankly you guys respond to Tero far more than necessary. Tero is a chemist with an opinion, NOTHING MORE!

Let's review, Tero was a Frezza thread original and supported the notion that cdma would never work in practical operation, he was wrong. Tero supported the view that cdma would never gain a world -wide acceptance, now we see that cdma WILL be the 3G standard, again he was wrong. Tero told us that the companies supporting VW-40 would never capitulate and give in to the Q's demands, we now see some capitulation in that arena and suspect that Tero, again, was wrong. Tero reminded us that its the phone that counts, stupid, and tried to pass the notion that it was in Nokia's best interest to continue to produce an inferior cdma format phone, when pressed to respond to the fact that the phone differences would be eliminated, he couldn't. Now we see that gap eliminated in phones, again he was wrong. Tero once tried to float the idea that the capacity constraint that GSM has vs. CDMA wasn't really there and GSM capacity would soon surpass cdma, we know he is wrong. Tero proves again and again that he truly does not understand a free enterprise system. I'm sorry, but I've rated Tero as credible as the chuckster.

DaveMG:

Seems to me that Tero is fixed on the short term. He always seems to say that because GSM/Nokia/Ericson has an advantage today that the advantage will remain forever. He seems to say that every contract today is the definitive proof that CDMA is hopeless. He seems to continually say that that this is a zero sum game. That dividing up today's pie is all there is. This is the same argument we have endured since day one. CMDA is not equal to GSM/TDMA today therefore it is not viable.

Well I do not invest for today. I invest for tomorrow. This is not a zero sum game; the pie is growing exponentially. You do not rob Peter to pay Paul. There will be multiple standards for the foreseeable future as each network was and is built on economic decisions, each of which are unique.

CDMA will make more and more sense (and cents) to more and more providers as time goes on. Not to today, maybe tomorrow, certainly next week. That is why it is called investing.

Happy Friday

Tero says<I can only say that looking at the last two months W-CDMA as a concept is now stronger than it was before Christmas. >
He is right! it's only a concept based on CDMA2000. That's what he doesnt understand. I also find it funny that he makes a long drawn out speach and when we respond he vanishes to the NOKIA thread to rant somemore. Tero has lost all credibility because he doesnt have meaningfull dialogues with dissenting posters. In several instences I have made comment's about the Q handset division. I argued with GREGG and respectfully disagreed with him. Two weeks ago Q shut me up by offering the type of phone I was expecting out of them. I mentioned this to TERO and I still do not get a responce. It is one thing to argue another point of view, it is a completly diferent thing to write gobs of propaganda. Tero is simple touting ETSI,ERICY/NOKIa propaganda!
