Chip, I'll make an attempt to answer your questions about the trading platforms I use. I have two separate ISP connections with AMD 350s connected to each one during market hours. These are local ISPs with 56k connections. Although not perfect, the stability in the ISPs I use has come a long way over the past few years. Both PCs have the Leoweb execution software application installed for trading futures and one has direct CME pricing and info for the mini, along with several other net applications that I use during market hours. This duplication of the LFG Leoweb is in case of the possible unknowns of both my PCs or ISPs while trading futures. The other PC has Townsends Real Tick software application from AB Watley for CBOT and CME quotes as well as full market data and electronic trading access for ECN, NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ, and options. You may be aware, but to be clear, AB Watley is not only a PC quote vendor, but a transparent trading platform used for instant access to stock and option executions. I have found these two platforms give me both the data, and the executions with instant confirmation, that are needed for my personal style of trading. I use a third PC that holds my t/a software applications along with my market info data base. I now also keep a hand held cell phone on the desk for power outages. Yes, that happened while in a trade and my phone system didn't work! Ouch! $ Oh, and of course CNBC is muted in the background! <g> AB Watleys site is here abwatley.com 1-800-ABWATLEY My introducing futures broker is John Marc at Trade Center and his site is here tradecenterinc.com 1-800-894-8194 I hope this helps. Good luck! nextrade!
