You're right in that the share structure on the TSE will not change. The MM on Nasdaq will get together and come up with an IPO price based on the company and its peers. Traditionally the other auction companies in the same state as BII IPO'd at around US$14-$18. My feeling is that BII will also IPO at the same price, regardless of the TSE valuation. The TSE price will then rise to match this level before the actual IPO.

Although the TSE will have a much larger float, the small Nasdaq float will cause the price to rise sharply. The TSE share price will be forced to rise at the same rate in order to maintain a fair market. If you look at other companies such as ATY/ATYTF (or any of the major Canadian banks on the NYSE) you'll notice that the canadian and US share prices always match up to within 1% during intraday trading and at close. My only concern is that if there is not enough US interest, the low Nasdaq volume will mean that the TSE will dictate the price and not the other way around. If this does happen, I believe this will be a temporary situation until the ticker receives the attention it deserves.

One thing to keep in mind is that we're not talking about fundamentals here. There was no fundamental reason that infoseek (SEEK) on Nasdaq went from around $55 to $91 in one day a few weeks back. It's simply a case of an internet stock that was ignored for a long time and suddenly came into public favor. It is my belief that BII will do the same.

sg,

I believe that a financing would be done @ $5 US. It makes sense doesn't it. The market makers win because the price would rise. The current shareholders win because the price would rise. BII wins, obviously.

Trying to do a financing at $10 or $15 US just doesn't work IMO.

Here's a post I made earlier regarding that:
