Quicken download...

Nelson Chang says: "Just buy a copy of Quicken Deluxe. The program has an online center that allows you to download data from your broker, credit card, etc. You may also have to set it up individually w/ them to access each account. But once done, its pretty convenient."

Agreed. But only if your broker supports the download. Mine does, and obviously yours, but not every one.

Here's a pointer to the list, on the Quicken web site (brokerages are near the end of the file... past the banks and credit cards):

Hope this helps.

Nelson, Do you know if Quick Books Pro might have this feature too?

I have QBP on my computer but do not know how to use it.

Where do you suppose I would start looking in QBP? i.e. What "pull down" menu do you use in Quicken Deluxe?

Colin

I bought Quicken deluxe last year. I have been unable to connect online with Dreyfus Brokerage. They do have data I can dl for quicken only it's not the right format? They suggested I DL the info then rename the file type. Well I renamed the file type to file.qif but I guess thats not what quicken wants either. I'm about 8mos behind in entering transactions into quicken....nightmare! I really need to get this to work somehow! What is the file extension Quicken wants for import? .QDF? I'll rename using that and see if it works?
Ok that didn't work either....but it tried.

My brokerage gives me data in txt or html formats? I guess I'll keep bugging them...no one I speak to there has any idea?

They don't actually give you a data file to DL. The info just shows up on you screen. I selected all and saved as.
